Given the nature of rapidly fluctuating fuel prices, managing freight rates is critical for your business.
Avoiding lost revenue can be complex and time consuming, especially when you are dealing with multiple customers, freight rates, as well as handling multiple hauling contractors.
ScaleQ’s Fuel Surcharge feature simplifies the process of adjusting to rising fuel costs by allowing companies to calculate a surcharge dollar amount to be applied to each transaction. Surcharges are calculated as a percentage of the haul charge, printed on the receipt as a separate line item, and are included in the Transaction Total Charge. Surcharge amounts are saved in the database for future reporting and analysis.
Typically, the Surcharge Rate is recorded in the ScaleQ Site File and is applied universally to all eligible transactions, eliminating the need for multiple edits when rates change. Specific Customers and/or Jobs may be designated to be exempt from Fuel Surcharges. A simple logical field determines whether the Surcharge amount is added to the Hauler Pay field. Other configurations are available. Contact us today to learn more about how ScaleQ's Fuel Surcharge feature can simplify the process and avoid revenue loss.
